Tom and Kim Baumann are one of our special couples who do not already have children of their own, and have chosen an angel with Down syndrome as their first child.

The Baumanns met 8 years ago and have always shared a special passion for children. They married 4 years ago and decided they wanted to start a family fairly quickly. After Kim suffered a miscarriage and the worries of ?are we ever going to have a child?, then a special little boy with Down Syndrome came into their life, by the name of Max. After seeing his family and meeting several other families with children with DS, Tom turned to Kim and said ?Let?s do this. We are to bring a special child home to us. It is God's plan for us.?

So they did their homework and couldn?t resist the beautiful smile and personality beaming on Vanya.    And now their journey begins!!!
