SERGEY for the Davis family--Tuscaloosa, AL
Greg and Tesney Davis have been married for nine years and have one biological son, Clayton, who is three years old. Tesney is a Social Worker and Greg is a Land Manager. The call to adopt a child with Down Syndrome is an urging that began in Tesney when she was a teenager after she worked as a volunteer with Special Olympics. Then during her college years, she met several families who had children with Down Syndrome. She also met Greg around the same time and he shared her love for these children. These wonderful families have been an inspiration for Tesney and Greg. They thought they might wait to adopt a child with Down Syndrome until a little later in life, but God had different plans. Greg and Tesney had been praying for months that God would show them what he wanted them to do to live courageously for him. He answered their prayers through the children on Reece’s Rainbow. After looking at the pictures of the children on this website, they both knew what they had been called to do…bring one of these children into their own family. The Davises plan to adopt Sergey from Russia. They came to this decision after praying over several children. It seemed that God kept leading them towards Sergey. Even his description which said, “Sergey is a little monkey” seemed to be a sign, since their nickname for their other son Clayton is “little monkey.” They are hoping he and Sergey will be two of a kind!
